The seafood industry is the sixth most valuable of Australia's food-based primary industries, with a gross value of production of $2.05 billion in 2006-07.

The Seafood CRC is Australia's first entity to stimulate and provide comprehensive seafood-related research & development and industry leadership on a national basis.

We Won! 2010 CRCA Innovation Award

On the 30th May 2010, the Seafood CRC, together with industry partner Clean Seas Tuna Ltd and research partners Flinders University, SARDI, Darwin Aquaculture Centre, NSW Industry and Investment, University of the Sunshine Coast and the University of Tasmania took out this prestigious award for the scientific research underpinning the Southern Bluefin Tuna spawning break-through.

ALife Careers Project

The Seafood CRC was excited to be part of the ALife Careers project which was launched on the 2nd November 2008 and ALife II which was launched in Novenber 2009. This project is endorsed by Australian television celebrities Rove McManus (Rove), Jason Hodges (Better Homes and Gardens) and Ada Nicademou (Home and Away).
