They deliver world-class research and development, provide policy leadership, protect industries against pests and diseases and maintain animal welfare standards. Part of DEEDI's portfolio is to protect and conserve fisheries resources while maintaining profitable commercial and enjoyable recreational fishing sectors. DEEDI is also the lead agency in developing the policy framework for the management of Queensland's fisheries resources and the development of a profitable fisheries industry.
